Siliocon Valley Infotech Limited was originally incorporated on 29th August, 1983 under the Companies Act,1956 with the name Prashant Food Products & Holdings Limited under the Registrar of Companies New Delhi. The Company obtained its Certificate of commencement of business on 23rd September,1983.The name of the Company was changed into Prasant Global Finance Limited in the year 1985 & finally to Silicon Valley Infotech Limited in the year 1998.The company shifted its Registered Office from New Delhi to its current location in Kolkata in the year 1995.

The Company is engaged in the business of granting loans & advances and investment in shares & securities. As a part of the diversification programme the Company had set up 2.46 MW Wind farm project at Kayathar in Tamilnadu. Elmostate Electron Limted and Arihant Investment Trust Limited, two companies that were engaged in the business of investment in share and securities and advancing of short term financing were amalgamated with the Company. To part finance the diversification programme the Company made a public issue in Feb’ 96.

The present Authorised Share Capital of the Company is Rs.205000000/- of Re. 1 each. The Paid-up and Issued Share Capital is Rs.12,96,80,000/- and face value is Re.1/- per share. The Shares of the Company are listed with CSE, NSE and BSE.
